I did an engine swap from a 3.0 to a 4.0 I pulled from an explorer but the computer is either bad or doesnt match up. The truck turns over but it sounds strange like the timing is off but I cant adjust it because its all computer controlled. Its a 2000 ranger that had a 3.0, The 4.0 is from a 99 explorer. I used the wiring harness from the explorer and Im wondering if I need one for a 99-00 4.0 ranger. Any help is appreciated.

The dash section of the harnesses may not be quite right.
Thanks. The explorer harness has some extra wires that the ranger doesnt and I dont know where they go. They must be different.
