I have heard that your tires cangive you a small lift is this true? I have a stock ranger (other then brakes and 85% of the engine) SO lets say i put a
3" body lift and 4" Superlift suspention lift with 33" tires That would be a 7 inch lift right? OR would the 33" tires give me a 1" rasie? PLase tell me!!! :icon_hornsup:

With the 7" of lift and 33's (I am assuming you have 31's stock) you would have...

8" lifted body
5" lifted frame
and 1" lifted axles.

the reason people put bigger tires on their vehicles is to gain the precious axle clearence because you are only as good as your lowest hanging part. if you have 28" tires and add 31's you gain an additional 1.5 inches of axle clearence.

With a Body lift you are clearing room for the larger tires in a cheaper solution because all your going for is more axle clearence ot get through the snow and stuff... or you just wanna look off road with bigger tires without breaking the bank.

A suspension lift will leave the axles where they are but raise everything else so going over hills and stuff you will be alot less likely to drag stuff or get hung up on something.

The only thing that will raise your axles is bigger tires. :icon_thumby:

Correct. A larger tire will give you a height increase equal to 50% of the diameter increase over the previous tire. The OD may increase by 3" or whatever, but because the mounting point is in the middle, half of the diameter increase will be at the top and half at the bottom.

You need bigger tires to increase axle clearance.
You need to lift the vehicle to fit bigger tires.
