Just curious here, but I've seen a lot of Saginaw p/s pump swaps onto the 4.0 bracket... what I'm wondering is has anyone done it on the 2.9? I'm sure someone has, or knows more about it than I do. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for, so here I am. Also looked in the tech library, but of course, it was only the 2.3 and 4.0 from what I saw. Does the 4.0 bracket fit the 2.9? I wouldn't imagine it would, as the 4.0 has the self-tensioner, whereas the 2.9 you have to manually tension. So, as mentioned, anyone know (before I tear into it...) if the Saginaw pump will mount up to my 2.9 p/s bracket in the same way? And if not, am I going to have to modify a 4.0 bracket or something to fit on there?:icon_confused: Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

go to my build thread, find my Hydro steering section. or look in the TRS magazine for my pump swap info. i put a saginaw on the bracket you're talking about.

putting a saginaw pump onto a 2.9 bracket should be easier as the 2.9 bracket is sheet steel versus the cast aluminum bracket used on the 4.0.

I've done it, it's easy, the only thing I had to do is slightly re-bend the HP hose

Thanks guys, now I'm just trying to find one! Haha. They're NOT plentiful around these parts.

I don't have an Autozone around here. Just local parts stores, and they want close to $300 for it. It's not like I NEED it, would just be nice to have, so I'll wait 'til I can find one at a local yard.
