im looking to turbo a 2.3 ranger and i have a few ques i cant find anywhere.

i plan i keeping the engine that came in the truck and adding a set of forged pistons cause their not to expensive (less than $300). aside of that and a set of better headbolts with a new headgasket is there anything else i should replace while in the engine?

also whats involvled with getting the ecm to work with this crap, is their some sort of controll module i can plug in, ive heard of something like that but cant find any info on them?

i know ill need guauges and a maf and whatnot. im looking to run as much boost as i can and be streetable and reliable so what size turbo you think would be best? and whatever else needs to be done ill do it as long as its not stupid expensive

if anyone can help me out i would apriciate it

ive read all of them completely through but their all about doing 2.3 SWAPS from other vehicles, i dont want to do that, i want to keep the engine thats in there and mod it to hold the power... which to my knowledge is just basicly piston and ecm mods. on that note would a system like megasquirt work for it

I would put the T-birds 2.3 in because the cylinder walls are thicker and it already has the oil holes in the block for the turbo's oil lines.

In the end its easier to do the 2.3T swap then make a N/A 2.3 into a turbo engine.
