Door tag codes? :icon_confused:Now you're taking all the fun out of yard hunting. You got to get down in the dirt and read those tags on the rear cover to have the real fun.:icon_cheers:

Good info, the only error I saw was the need to modify the driveshaft when going from 7.5 to 8.8. All thats needed there is a combination U joint.

if it says L,SL,or LS where the decimal point goes in the ratio on the tag you got a limited slip.but since you can change doors and diff tags you should rely on turning the axle shaft to see if its LS.

You are best off looking at the diff not the door. If the rear was ever replaced the door won't tell you that. Not a common thing to have happen but it does happen. You usually can go by the axle ID tag, not common people swap out a limited slip. This way you can find carrier type, gear ratio, ring size and so on.
