can you guys tell me what the difference between a 93 ranger 4.0 5spd and a 92 4.0 5spd explorer computer? ive been having a hell of a time trying to diagnose a problem and ive swapped computers and its seemed to fix the problem.
 
I bet there's some subtle pinout differences between the ranger and explorer. Also 93-94 trucks have very different wiring harnesses than the earlier EEC-IV vehicles.

I'd look up the pinouts for each computer.
