My 96 did not have an alarm/keyless entry, power locks or power windows from the factory. However, I am going to add them. Does anyone have a pic of how the factory solenoid/actuator is mounted? That would be very helpful. Thanks!

Best thing to do man is go to your local pick-a-part and get all the necessary parts off a ranger. I did this last year (got all the power window parts, power locks, mirrors and all the wiring; also got all interior pieces to switch mine from tan to grey off same truck all for 200.)

Thank you for the reply. I am just wanting to just see how the factory solenoid mounts. I'd just like an idea of the best spot to mount it. I don't care about buttons and such, I am going to be running them with my alarm. I have an alarm on my Mustang, and I never touch the lock/unlock buttons. So I don't see any reason to go through the hassle on a Ford. If it were a Chevy or something (never will own another GM product) where a locked door doesn't open from pulling the inside handle, then I would go through all of that stuff.

By doing it this way, I am doing it WAY cheaper.

i will try and get pics of mine....however i may not be able to due to my custom panels...theres PIA to get on and off.

That would be awesome. I want to know how Ford mounted it. From what I understand, the OEM setup uses 5 wire solenoids. I am using 2 wire solenoids. Thanks in advance.

I'm not so well versed in Rangers. I do however know the 79 to 93 Mustang quite well if anyone ever has any questions.

Well my dad says it's 2 wire setup. He says he wouldn't swear on it but he's pretty sure

That's good to know if it is a 2 wire. Maybe I'll bag the universal idea and use Ford solenoids then.

Alain, thank you so much for the information. That is exactly what I was looking for.
