Another King pin Q?

I couldn't find my old thread, but can I swap in newer I beams from lets say 90's with better brakes and ball joints that's alignable under my 81 with king pin I beams?

the difference between a balljoint and a king pin i-beam wouldn't matter, since the steering knuckle is the only moving part attached to the ball joint, and it only moves on one axis.

if you're talking about swapping a single i beam with TTB, that's different, and i don't know.

No, my truck is 2wd and has old king pin I beams. I want to level it by lifting the front 1", but don't think it could be aligned properlay afterwards. So what i'm asking is can I take both I beams, knuckles and all of course, and put under the 81 with no mods other than maybe brake lines?

'81 has kingpins?

I guess you could, you'll have to check and make sure the beams are the same length.

I can grab a set of I beams with knuckles and all for about $200 from a they pull it, ( I do not have the luxury of time for a pick and pull). For now I would just like to level the thing, but would like to do longer radius arms for more travel, but have only seen it done on lifted trucks. Has anyone done extended radius arms on a barely lifted truck?

Hmm, had a D44 TTB setup dropped in my lap this morning for free, I guess I could turn the thing into 4x4.... whats the new fullsize forum?
