I just bought a 94 ranger, its just turned 100k on it, its a 4 cylinder 5 spd.

Heres my problem, it has a really rough idle when cold, or when idling for more than 20 seconds when warm.

also it seem to lack a bit of power.

it is slowly burning up coolant so im thinking it has a bad head gasket. or one that is slowly going but not yet quite gone yet.

Im really trying not to tear apart my engine just yet due to it being 10 degrees outside and i have 2 old cars sitting as statues untill the spring, plus i have no etc. rambling here

but anybody know of anything or ways hold the gasket at bay or maybe fix it untill spring? like bars leak?

Thanks

You could try Bars Leak if you want but if you have a coolant leak into the cylinder it probably won't help. There really isn't any cheap, effective, short cuts around replacing the head gasket.

Yep i thought so, i was just hoping to change it in the warmth of spring!
