So I've only had my 02 for about 2 months now and I'm already sick of the electric T-case. Can I just pull a 1354 with the linkage and front shaft from a older truck and make it work? I know there will be some front driveshaft mods but that doesn't worry me. Anybody have experience with this?

yes you can pull a 1354 manual and bolt it in, the best driveshaft to get if you can find one is a 95-96 explorer front shaft as it will be the exact length needed and bolt right in with the D35 and 1354. If you use a front shaft from a D35 TTB vehicle (91-94 explorer, 90-97 ranger) you will have to have it shortened to work.
