1995 5.0 mustang in 2001 ranger edge 3.0 4x4

the transmission i have is an aode and was just rebuilt. i was wondering if i could hook a transfer case out of a f150 on it? i kno you can get adapters but i was looking for some opions.Any info would help
 
I think the hardest part on the later swaps is getting the wiring right but lots here to help. With the right adapter it ought to work. What computer and electrical system you planning to use?

i planned on using the harness and pcm out of the mustang but i dont kno if it will work with a transfercase on it when the computer thinks the trans is 2wd.
 
If you can physically attatch the AODE to a transfer case, the ECU will not care about the transfer case. It will have no idea it's there.
 
I'm pretty sure you'll have to tear down the 2wd AODE and install a 4wd main shaft in order to bolt a t-fer case onto it. You may want to check out Advance Adapters site and look for info on what is needed to do it.
