well i took my console back out an reglassed the ugly ass hole i had for my shifter.. i also redid the top in carbon fiber.. any one have any ideas or advice on how to build a shift boot or what would be a good donor for one? i have an old leather coat i could use to build one but iam not too keen on building one since i don't have an idea as to what iam doing in that area haha.

Heres a few pics of what it looks like..

ya thats waht i did the first time.. haha ended up cutting another inch from the back when i lifted it a few weeks an an it looked like ASS so i decided th redo it

that turned out good. I was interested to see how well that seam turned out

Destroyer did you do that carbon fiber yourself?? If so could you make other peices?? Once I come up with some extra cash I would like to get a couple of interior peices made for my truck.

working with carbon fiber isnt hard. its the same as fiberglass for the most part. typically the CF that you see is only the top layer and the rest is actually fiberglass. it is easy to learn and just takes alittle practice.

Actually the hole console is CARBON i had an ass load of bits an pieces an just used them considering it was easier to work with them..

Black 03 yes i did make this my self all hand made..

well after a few hours of thinking an making temp lets outta cardboard we got something to work.. went to the yard an had no luck on a boot.. i had an ole neon boot from a while back of when i was first going to try an use it.. well we decided to use it an it came out awesome! no seams looks decent..

that looks awesome!!

got a quick question for ya though, can you layer CF over a premade plastic peice?

what I would like to do is either cover or make a new trim ring around my radio and climate controls. is there a site that gives some direction on how to do CF? I understand that it is similar to fiberglass, but I have never worked with either one.

or maybe could I get another ring and ship it to you and pay you to cover it?
