No it was sometime in the 80's. I just want to pin point the year.

My buddy has an 86 with a 9" and 4.10s. But he isn't the original owner so there is no way to tell if that's what it came with from Ford or not.

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
Some time in the early 80's. At least for a while I think if you got a 351 engine you got a 9", and with a I-6 or 302 you got an 8.8".

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
there are carb'd 351/c6 powered 86 big broncos that have a 9". the 8.8 was used with fuel injected Broncos

Are you trying to identify the axle? A 9" has no rear cover--no bolts when viewed from the rear. An 8.8 has a rear cover--bolts.

I've never doubted you Allan, but I've seen them in '85s, and I know it was factory well checked the numbers. Maybe it was an option...?

Ya, seen them in 86's with 351's up here as well. Like everything Ford did, there was probably a few crossover years/models.

I believe the transfer case if not a 205 will be the BW1356. I am actually trying to find a 95 or 96 in great shape. I will have both ends of the spectrum then...
