I was at a 4x4 event the other day and saw a toyota with a mod that I fell in love with.
It was a Bronco or something spare tire mount..... the arm that swings. He had taken a grinder and cleaned up the mount area....... to fit, and sandwich plated it to the corner of his bed, with the lock on the tailgate....
If he needed his tailgate he just had to swing the arm away and he has a usefull truck with no space wasted in the bed and a good spot to safely mount a 33in mud tires.
I'm not sure how well it would work with all the ranger years tail,lights but I think with some tweaking it would be extremely effective for offroaders.
Just thought I would share that, Ive seen the tire tailgates and am not a fan of losing the tailgat altogether. and in the bed mounting takes valuable space.
