I have a 1991 ranger ext cab 2wd 4.0L Auto and i'm looking at the Aussie locker. The tag on my diff reads S326A. I found some info online that states it's a non-locker, used 90-96, has 3.08 gears and is an 8.8. It doesn't say how many splines it has though. Offroadlockers only lists the DANA axle (front i believe) for the Ranger, but there are a number of other ford 8.8 axles that they cover. Looking at the other axle numbers surrounding mine in the document i found, i'd guess I have a 28 spline. If that's the case, is the Aussie not an option?

Sorry man, I believe the aussie locker is only available for the 31 spline 8.8" axle. Your ranger came factory with a 28 spline 8.8" axle. Save your pennies for a powertrax no-slip. this is the most streetable auto-locker imo.

Just found a Powertrax Lock Right 1810-LR on craigslist, new in box for $250. Some of my searches say it fits in a ford 9", some say it fits in the 8.8" and 9" and works with both 28 and 31 splines. Does anyone know if the 1810-LR will fit (see first post for axle details). Thanks.

Lock right are really close to aussie they work on the same principle and are both lunchbox type.I googled lock-right 8.8 and got a lot of hits for 28 spline. The one on my front works good both tires always turn when straight. That being said I wouldn't want one in the rear when the hubs are unlocked now it's like its not there the stock limited slip works much better for day to day driving and guys that have aussie's for DD even the hardcore guys complain.

Yeah, I should probably hold out for the no-slip just because it is more DD friendly. I'd like a bit more traction than the limited slip though. I find myself with one tire on ice and one on gravel a lot in the winter. That, and deep snow.
