Okay, here's the situation. I knew the starter or something was about to go after i'd start my truck and here a slight squeal (off the flywheel?) after starting. But now, my truck is sitting in the driveway, and to get the starter to do anything I have to jump it. The battery is BRAND NEW, and even replaced under warranty once, and the alternator is also brand new, as well as battery connections, as I just went through a similiar electrical problem about 2 months ago. When I turn the key, nothing, no lights, except dimly for a split second. With the jumper connected, the starter will just make a loud clicking sound. I am not sure how to diagnose this, I want to say it's the starter but now it seems to be an electrical issue. Any ideas?

Also, any diagrams or anything on how to pull the starter? Seems to be three bolts holding it in, but not sure. Thanks!!!!!!!

there should be 3 bolts holding it on and then there are 2 wires with bolts on the solenoid portion on of the starter that youll have to remove. i would check the chassis end of the ground wire to make sure its tight and not corroded before pulling the starter off.

give the starter a good wack it should start up.did it to my chicks car multiple times

the starter soliend could be burnt up and is taking alot of power to try to get engaged to spin the motor over ive burnt them up with water and mud they are a pain to change and replace atleast on my yota it was
