I think I kinda should know this already, but with finals and everything else going on at the moment I just don't feel like thinking about it that much.

I have an 87 2.9 4x4 MT etc and my key has been sticking in Start. It doesn't kick back into run the whole way. Its letting the starter disengage from the flywheel but keeping it running.

What is my likely culprit?

Or it could just be gummed up some, I'd start with lubing the mechanism (where the key goes and the other parts of it under the dash)

They have lock lube at home depot, I use it all the time at work on our bay doors. It works great. Or go to a local locksmith, they should have some.

That actually may be more likely than the switch. My ignition lock has worked when it wants to for over a year now. usually I can start it without the key.

Thanks for the input guys. If it ever stops snowing long enough for me to do anything with it I'll let you know what I find. Until then, time to wrap up in a blanket and stay outta the snow since I have no pressure in the clutch hydraulics and no front d-shaft until i get the clutch bled out and it stays that way ( I think the slave fitting isn't seated completely).
