I have a 1994 4x4 ranger, and I ordered a 3" body lift, and am only now doing the math.

My truck currently has P265x75xr15 tires, which from my calculations comes out to ~30inch diameter

It seems commonly accepted that a 3" body lift will allow for 33's, which is only a 3 inch increase in diameter, putting my truck an additional 1.5" off the ground.

Yikes, I somehow thought it would be more. Is it completely unreasonable to think of fitting 35x10.5's, or something of the sort on with a 3" lift (perhaps fender trimming etc)?

Depending on your gearing, 3.73? 4.10? 35's will be slow without at leat 4.56 and i suggest 4.88, 33's are the better choice and even they'll rub when you wheel it:icon_thumby:

it can be confusing since people don't know that a "33" is really about 31-31.5"s.hope that clears up things a little.

Your tires are closer to 31 inch, so they will prob fit witht 1.5 inch if u use stock wheels or wheels with stock backspacing

I had 33's with a 4" lift w/F150 coils and still rubbed offroad. Unless you do both a suspension lift and a B/l or cut fenders then I'd stick to a 33" tire. I didn't mind 33's with 3.73's at first but the slowness and lack of bottom end get's old real quick. But now I've got a cummins and 4.56's to help push my 37's around whenever it gets done.....

I would def. say stick with the 33's. Looks aside the stuffed wheel wells infringes on functionality. btw I got 265/75 and they are like a 31.5"
