I have a '90 ranger 5 speed that im swapping a 93 4.0 into.

I pulled the complete harness (engine, headlight, etc.) from a '93 ex 5 speed for the swap. Everything fit and plugged up except the six or so plugs on the drivers side above the wheel well. Should the transmission harness and main wiring harness (runs back the fuel pump and lights i think) from the '90 plug into the 93 harness? Does anyone haves some pics of the their second gen ranger or 1st gen ex with a 4.0 and a five speed of the wiring in that area?

thanks guys.

The "Transmission" wiring is the two smaller connectors
that also connect to the oil pressure switch, the "Must leak sensor"
and the cannister purge solenoid.

The frame harness is likely different and will involve swapping the connector shell at a minumum

I really can't help you directly even though I also swapped a '93 4.0/5sp
into my 2.9/5sp truck... my truck was an '87

Anyone have the wiring diagrams for the two ('90 truck, 93 Engine)?
If any of you guys have read the others posts, the shop that is replacing this (under warranty, didnt want to put a 2.9 back in) seems to think that the whole body wiring needs to be replaced. I have never heard that in all the swaps I have read, and the one I helped with plugged right up, I think ) 91 or 92 into a 90. From what I understand, the 4 pairs of plugs on the drivers side (above the wheel well) have to be spliced together and thats it.

any help would be great, kind of in a bind here. Thanks
