ok the dash in my 89 xlt is not exactly my favorite. coarse im used to pre 70 all metal dashes and this one just reminds me to much of the pos explorer my dad has. so has anyone done anything cool with their dashes. If so can i see a picture. thanks guys.

here's my 1st gen dash after a few LEDs....
looked amazing at night

that's really nice stig, i like it a lot... is that gauge on the left stock? I like that a lot better than what I have now, besides the fact that it doesn't have a tach... but is there really a reason for a tach? I don't tow or trail ride... I haul every once and a while.. and I don't race. (in a ranger... ahahahaha)

sucky picture but heres my gauges in my 1st gen

hey i really like the look of that galaxie dash. thats i good ideal. I was thinking about maybe getting some like 14 gauge steel and fabbing one that might be in like a hard core trail buggy. or i have some 70s ford pickup dashes i could cut down.

Where did you buy those led's. and which ones where they. I want them!!!!!!!!

14ga would be overkill... alot of mine is 16ga and some is 18ga so it was easier to bend and curve like i wanted. but the dash really doesnt support anything if you think about it. i mean some gauges, cd player, and maybe alot of crap in the glovebox lol

i took the dummy light rectangle piece that sits between the two main gauges out. and installed two small gauges, one water temp, one oil temp...

and a sunpro 52mm tach fits nicely where the CD player was!!!!

next i want to cut my own sheet metal dash as well. need to mount switches for lights, horn, turn signals, ignition button, and ejection seat
