i just realized my truck has a leak on the exhaust, its located in the connection from the pipe coming from the header to the pipe going under the bed, right in the middle of the cab.
anyone knows the name of the washer-like piece that goes there? :icon_confused: it seems to be a some kind of metal mesh washer, but not sure of the exact name, and do regular exhaust shops have them or i must purchase it at the dealer? i can even move the thing with my hand so deff thats the problem, besides i see a lil carbon stains coming from there.

thanks, RSH:icon_thumby:

Not exactly sure what its called but I know what you are talking about, Its a common peice seing as every ranger 98+ (that I know of) iincluding v6 models have them. I would just say exhaust coupling gasket...? You can probably pick em up at Napa or something for like 5 - 10 bucks. I got one with my new exhaust and i put high heat silicon gasket stuff (meant for exhaust work) around the pipe it was on slipped the new one on and then another bead around it and put it together. No leaks :icon_thumby:

ooh, yeah coupling gasket sounds like the name, thanks man!! ill replace that thing asap, i dont like at all the leaking air sound it has
