Ok guys,

Installing new poly Energy Suspension Axle Pivot Bushings into the axles on my 2wd. I have to re-use my old sleeves, and I've got them cleaned and ready.

My question is this: the installation instructions don't show how the metal sleeve should be oriented in the axle (flared lip on front or rear side) and also doesn't show which end (flared or flush) of the sleeve the o-ring spacer installs on.

Does the metal sleeve sit flush with the lip against the axle? If I install the sleeve with the spacer on the lip-end of the sleeve, it obviously cannot be installed with the lip flush against the axle. I've installed one set of bushings now and have it installed this way. It doesn't look right - part of the bushing sticks out on the non-lipped side of the sleeve.

On the pics I've seen with the bushings that come with a new sleeve, the bushing is installed flush into the sleeve, and I assume that the o-ring spacer goes on the opposite side. Like this:

I seem to recall (it's been a year that the truck has been torn apart) that the old sleeve didn't fit flush with the lip into the axle.

Thanks guys.

Justin
