I have a 2000 ranger and it recently started "falling apart" on me. I've been replacing things left and right lately. I had a vibration in the front end so I replaced some worn ball joints and it got better, but recently its started again. I got under the truck and found the front driveshaft wobles where it goes into the differential.

My 4x4 engages at the T case and the front drivetrain is always spinning, so I believe this is the cause of the last vibration. Has anyone replaced this bearing? I've never really messed with gears so I would like to keep the front differential all together.

I am also having a problem with the electrical for the 4x4 (the lights are flashing with circuit fault codes) so I was wondering if it would harm anything if I ran the truck with the front differentials, DS and axles all pulled.

Thanks for the help

The easy fix is to go on the WTB forum and post a request for another front chunk

SLA front diffs for a '98-up are easier toreplace than to fix.

a bad pinion bearing can easily damage the housing and putting
new bearings into it requires professional (expensive) service to install them.

that sounds good, but the only thing with that is it would cost me more to ship it here than it would to fix. I'm in the military and stationed in Germany. so parts are about my only option.
