92 4.0 question

i've got a motor out of a 92 ranger, what years will this be a direct swap into? i've found a 94, will it work in that?

whatever came stock in it. i have the 92 motor, im just looking for something with a blown motor (the 94) to swap it into. either gonna use it as a beater or try to sell it for a profit. i dont want to have to do any rewiring or anything, i want something that will be a direct fit.

Well, it's important to know because the ease or compatibility
of any swap is dependent on what is in the '94 NOW.

a '92 4.0 engine is an easier swap into am '89-92.

considerably more difficult into a '93-94, though this difficulty is reduced of the '94-94 already has a 4.0 (dead or not) that certain parts can be robbed from.

Yes, the longblocks are - you need to swap the sensors from the 94 onto the 92 motor.
