man im bout over my truck. i put my lift on it finally. i knew them terminals wasnt gon reach but when i got my battery hooked up my wipers were on when they was off. then i tried to crank it up and that sombtch started smokin and carryin on.:icon_confused: ive been a ford man my whole life but im bout at the point where ima sell it and try my luck with an s10. :dunno:
 
So try your luck with an S10. You should expect the unexpected when you modify ANY vehicle.
 
Sounds like bad chassis grounds. But what is smoking and from where?
 
I'm guessing you did a body lift, take a minute and go over the whole truck and check all the wires make sure none of them streched so much that the came apart. Does sounds like a chassis ground came loose.

Don't just give up, any vehicle you do something after market to your gona eventually run into an issue.
 
i dont know what body lift you bought but the PA one i think comes wth extened brackets for the firewall grounds but you easily make them with some 14 gauge wire or something
 
I blew an ac line first thing after my body lift.......... never again will I BL anything that's a 160 dollar hose, lol. live and learn.

i did the same thing with my ac line, but havent been able to find a replacement yet

did you somhow manage to flip the + with the -? The one with the extra coupple attached to it that goes to the box on the fender is usualy the +.
 
You are going to have just as many problem (if not more) with a S10. I know, I drive the Ford Ranger and my Mom drives the S10 Blazer. Some of the things I had to fix on the S10 were dicked up, if not expensive in labor to fix (thank god I'm a mech). The Ranger has had its problems, but not ones where the cost starts in the $1,000's to begin with.
