I have a 1999 4x4 and am looking for a set of used factory manuals. Can't find a set for 1999, but I did find 1998 and 2000. I don't think much changed between those years. Anybody know for a fact if either the 1998 or 2000 will work for me? I am leaning towards the 1998.

1998 would be a closer match, but little changed between 2000 and 99.

86isuzu - Thanks for the reply.

I actually don't see much differences between 1998, 1999, and 2000. I was hoping someone had compared the factory shop manuals in those years. They all are two volume sets, Ford might have used the same shop manual for all the years. Anyone actually compared the different years of manuals?

1998 and 1999 would be most similar, especially as regards the 4x4 front end. 98 and most 99 Rangers had (the dreaded) pulse-vacuum hub disconnect. Late 99 and 00-up Rangers have an always-live front end.
I never had a problem with the PVH on my 99 but I probably didn't have it long enough since someone ran a stop sign, plowed into me, and demolished it.:dunno:
