extended cab on regular frame

Have any of you guys put an extended cab body on a regular cab shortbed frame? did you build up the cab mounts to clear the frame, or did you trim the body to fit the frame?

I was going to do this...and have seen a few trucks done this way...but I didn't want to have to cut into the cab at the back (the way I was going to do it required it) so I decided to just leave the extended cab on the longer frame...

I did learn about the cost of replacing the mounts the hard way...but apparently you can get a set cheaper than what I paid through Ford...$600...just for six mounts...and some new grade 8 bolts...
