No boost

I was luck enough to find a brand new BBK Instacharger for my ranger. I finally got it installed and recently bought a vacuum/boost gauge. It's reading vacuum but at wot it reads 0, no boost. You can hear and feel the supercharger working. Anyone know what could be causing this?

maybe you tapped into a vaccuum line where you cant see boost

Where would be a good spot? I hooked it up on the vacuum tree at the back of the supercharger. The instructions for the gauge weren't that specific. It just says connect gauge to a pressure port on engine using supplied T fitting and adapter (supposed to cut a vacuum line and splice it in basically).

The connection must be on the discharge side of the supercharger.

yes it has to be on a vaccuum line that sees boost, i.e. after the supercharger, if its before the supercharger it will just show excess vacuum from the supercharger pulling air in

my supercharger did the same thing. you have to have a vacuum/boost line on the discharge side of the supercharger ie AFTER THE SC for the gauge to read proper boost.

got it. thanks. How much vacuum should my truck be pulling at idle and cruising speed? (93 4.0 ranger)
