It was a beautiful day Saturday, si i decided to take Sara for a little drive and on a picnic. We drove up to the Blueridge parkway which is 15 minutes from that house. we stayed on it for about 70 miles I think. we ened up stopping at Doughton's park and i surprised her with her picnic she's been begging me for. it was nice, we had the picnic right at the edge of a mountain. beautiful view! i did get a few pics of the truck even though it was dirty, i didnt have time to wash her last weekend.

I travel to this area every May Long weekend (Canada eh) this past years memories of the Blueridge Parkway were not so pleasant as yours.

Storm Clouds rolled in and we turned back.

Then this happened, fell asleep just before the corner and went into the bush at approx 70mph.

Bogdon, looks like you came out pretty well for hitting a bush at 70mph! Sorry to hear about the wreck though. If you're ever down this way again on the bike, look me up. My house is less than 3 miles from the nearest access ramp to the parkway (less than a mile to just walk onto it) and I ride nearly every day.

The guy following me claimed I was at 70mph when I entered the corner, no telling how much speed I lost when the brakes locked up, all I know is the trees were passing me quite quickly.

The bike was still rideable after we straightened the bars somewhat for the remainder of our trip. We are heading down this year again but I will be renting a harley in Pigeon Forge instead since my wife made me sell the bike after this.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is just Beautiful imo. I think the Appalachian Region is probably my fav. in the country. Thats why I live here. Nice wheels on that truck, man. I would like to get some for my truck if could ever come across some.

Its beautiful up there but man it takes FOREVER to drive it. Don't be in a hurry up there and enjoy the ride!
