will a 4.0 bolt in place of the 3.0 both are ohc engines both auto trans please help the 3.0 is in an 02 b 3000 :headbang::3gears:

yes they will bolt together. there is alot more to it than just bolt patterns.

i have built a few cars in the past but since katrina i have switched modes ,i just wanted to be sure before i yanked the donor engine just to find out it was a different pattern and have an engine sitting around as opposed to it being in the donor truck out of the weather thanks for your input:icon_hornsup:

4.0 will not bolt to 3.0 tranny and vise vera, but the 4.0 with 4.0, 2.9, 2.8 tranny will bolt in

bellhousing bolt pattern is different...can you use the trans from the donor truck?

Ye, the bllhousing pattern is different between the 3.0 and the 4.0.

And BTW, the 3.0 is NOT an OHV engine.

The 4.0 MIGHT not be...
