i bought a 88 bronco 2 kid said it ran but i cant get it to fire has fuel has spark i found tdc made sure rotor was pointing at #1 and still cant get it to fire what is the prob

First check the timing. Then, check the TFI module on the side of the distributor.

Has it sat a long time? some times the gas in the vehicle is so poor the motor acts like its not there to to check this put a little gas right on the injector and see if it farts at all.

i got my 87 from my dad after it sat for a year one the last thing stopping it from starting was my spark plugs they were fouled i would go and replace those

Hope you find the answer. I have the same problem with my Ranger. I have no pulse to the injectors. I am going out today and check the ground wires. I heard someplace that the ground wire fore the battery should me attached to the frame and the block. Don't know if thats true but will find out. I will also make sure all the pin connections are clean and not corroded. Your problem sounds electrical to me.

Well I put the old battery ground wire back on. It was built to ground to the frame and to the engine block. It still won't start but at least it sounds more like it wants to. I made sure the pins in the FI loom were clean also. Hoping someone out there can help us.

I have an 86 that did the exact same thing. The ignition module on the rear of the distributor was toast. Ireplaced it and all was good again.:
