Rear view mirror popped off...

hi;
I have a 2000 ranger off-road and the rear view mirror was loose since I bought the truck about a year ago. I drove over a speed bump and the mirror popped off onto my lap. The medal piece is still on the windshield. The mirror doesn't have any obvious clips or screws to reattach it.

a special tool from Ford?
it would probably be cheaper to by a different mirror and reattach myself.
any idea's?

could get some epoxy and dab it on the mirror part and stick it back up

Look closely, doesn't it SLIDE on?? Mine does, meaning my mirror comes of the metal piece that is still attached to the windshield.

Did it break in the swivel joint? If so you need a new one.

Most slide back on like a tongue and groove kind of connection with a spring clip. Some will have a tiny little allen screw to tighten em up.

I looked it over again and it slid back on like a glove.
