Hello i have a 1994 ford ranger 4cyl. I scanned it and reads an engine code 224, coil circuit failure, one of the coils is not working, what is the problem and how do i ix it?please help.its boggs alittle at take off.

Check to see if the coil has power. Check to see if the coil has continuity (not open or shorted).

No power or an open circuit within the coil are about the only thing that prevents them from working.

re

how do i check that? please help

Check for power by probing the voltage at the connections, with the engine running.

Check for continuity / open with a voltmeter. Check both the primary and secondary sides of the coils in the suspect pack (there are two coils in each pack).

If I'm following your question correctly, yes, the coils are identical and interchangeable.

could a bad coil cause vehicle not to crank when hot

Really dug this one out of the grave!

Maybe he did a search.

yeah, atleast he used the search function. better than posting another thread about the same thing.
