My 89 BII has the auto locking hubs and the auto transfer case. (D28 front axle) I could buy mile markers or warns and the conversion kit for upwards of $160.00:shok: I would like to get a set of manual hubs from a junkyard if possible, but what pieces (other than the hub) will i need to grab for the auto to manual conversion? Also I know I need to get the spindle nut socket. Can anyone tell me what size this is, as well as if a different socket is needed to install the manuals. Neither tech articles state the size.

Check on the parts for sale or post on the want to buy

you will need the hubs, and the hub conversion kit. it includes everything you will need. the socket i got a advanced auto parts. they had one for fords, one for chevs, and one for dodges

So if I grab the manual hubs, 4 nuts (the ones with a 4 lug drive), and two lock washers (the ones with holes all the way around), will this be all the parts. Will I be able to re use the thrust bearing and toothed washer/spacer thing? Also, the manuals take the 4 lug socket, but what about the big hex nut on the automatic hubs? This should be loose at only 16 in lbs, right?
