Hey guys FIRST post here been doin some research lookin to do a 2.3t swap into a 91 2.3 2wd ranger 5 spd... I have been told to stay away from 88 turbo which parts are the best options to look for I may have a line on a 88 t-bird but dont want go after wrong parts if a better turbo is recommended... Lookin to do a mild mannered daily driver that has plenty of power for 6500 ft elevation... Not lookin to make a 10-11 sec drag racer... Fun and drivable mainly..... hope Im not postin this in the wrong spot cuase I was hopin to look for the right parts in the junkyard!!!!! or a best option complete car?? Any ideas??? Or best case senario parts list... I know it takes more than a turbo, injectors, intercooler, wiring, ecm blah blah blah... Lookin more into specifics of what exactly works the best and easy (simple)to install....
FYI...
I plan on doing a complete overhual on 2.3T motor before firing it up...So its fresh..

Thanks all

from what i have gathered the 88 tc motor is the best one because they had the LA3 computer and they were intercooled. That is what i have in my truck. I however have an 86 turbo out of a merkur (which is a long story) but the 86(T3) turbos were the best because they have more overall potential. The 87-8 turbos are T4 and spool up faster but have less top end power. i am satisfied with my swap but i haven't gotten the chance to tune it yet. I just got it running and now it is in the shop for an exhaust.
