Ranger wipers and cruise control???

My 97 ranger has a problem with the wipers, they only work on high and when I turn them off they stop where ever they want. Also the cruise has never worked since I had it. It has the controls on the steering wheel to turn it on and off. Any ideas let me know, Thanks
 
eh, my 97 ranger has issues w/ the wipers too. but mine is in the switch.. I can put it on intermittent and sometimes I will get 3 cycles in a row and then it will wait 5 seconds and cycle once, then 5 seconds cycle once or not cycle at all until I fiddle w/ the switch... and this does not matter what position the wiper switch is.

I don't have any issues w/ the cruise tho. check the obvious, fuses, vacuum hoses and the connector to the solenoid that engages it. could be the solenoid itself.

My 90 Ranger started doing this. Pretty much narrowed it down to the switch. Haven't got to replacing it yet to know for sure though.
