so i have a winch that i want to mount on my truck....

i either want to use a front 2 inch hitch or a fixed winch mount....i don't need any thing fancy and i am kind doing this on a budget...so i was wondering what you guys did.?

the plan is to be able to make a winch mount that fits the receiver. that way i can use it wherever its needed and store it inside when its not in use
 
ive not added a front winch or receiver but i could have. my grille guard is a warn trans4mer and i could replace the tube at the bumper lever with either a receiver mount or a winch mount. id probly build my own if i were to ever have need of one.
 
kunar yours works BUT my 97 ranger has that stupid crumple zone in the frame.....

yeah, i was thinkin this was for your 1st gen. im sure you could still do something similar though, just have to work around it.
 
i know what you ment...and i do have to say that is a bad ass set up!!!!

There are a few manufacturers who make reciever hitchs for your 97. I would know, I have one. Although I hacked mine up in an effort to gain a better approach angle. Mine is currently mounted with 6- 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts.

With a bit of work, a winch will fit behind the bumper on a Gen 3.
