I have read a bunch of posts and various comments about the famous A4ld tranny and related problems. However, everyone comments about the 1988 and up models with electronic controlled 3-4 shift. No one says much about tdhe earlier model A4ld, without the elec controlled solenoid. What makes this earlier transmission shift into OD, or 3-4 shift? I pulled pan and saw the solenoid in corner , driver side, forward with 2 wires on it but did not see any other solenoids. can someone educate me a little on how this thing works and tell me where this other solenoid is that could be suspect. thanks to all.
