2.3 Turbo Swap

Ok first off I want to say that this site is one of the best that I have found for rangers. Ok so I have an 88 ranger and I have a Turbo 2.3 out of a Thunderchicken. I have motor, wiring harness and ECM. I wont be doing the install until first of the year, but I just had the fuel pump replaced, the one in the tank. After we did the replacement we found out that the one on the rail (high pressure) is not working. Since I am going to put the 2.3T in the ranger I need to know which Walbro 190LPH pump to buy (part #'s)? Also do I need to run an adjustable fuel regulator with the Walbro pump? also yes i have read the other post about the 2.3T installs, but noone listed part numbers for the Walbro

can anyone help me out with this?? i am wanting to order the pump this weekend if i can find a part number.

Thanks

You want to delete the external pump and run a hi-flow in tank pump. It's the same as the mustang/t-bird/everything pump from the same years. I run a TRE (ebay special) 255 lph pump in my tank, it's about $70-80 and does the job just fine.

And no, you do not need an adjustable FPR.

this. pull out the inline rail pump. easiest is to get fuel injection rubber line from the parts store for the length that was taken up by the old inline pump and just use two clamps on each end for good measure.

then replace (again) the intank fuel pump with a 190 (255 is better and just slightly more expensive). If you dont go over 6psi or so you can get away with your stock unit for a little while just to get the truck running and bugs fixed if you're low on cash.
