i was driving the other day and my sub cut off all of a sudden.. the amp is getting power when the cd player is turned on and everything but the sub just isnt hitting at all.i tried new rca wire. and i know the sub isnt blown. any suggestions?

did a speaker wire disconnect on the inside of the box?

i took the plate off the side of the box that has the speaker wire terminals and gently pulled on the wires and they were still connected. ive even switched amps to see if thats the problem.. but its not.

idk how exactly the sub works... but i mean what about where the voice coil leads?

could those have snapped or melted or something? or simply come unsoldered or something?

check the fuse on the wire going to your amp

he said the amp turn on but no output. Do you have a multimeter?

Start by making sure your subwoofer control is turned on in your head unit. if its turned on move on to the next step

check your rca voltage coming out of the headunit (set to AC Volts 0-10)

If theres no voltage on your rca's, your headunits preout is bad, or its turned off, try switching to a new set of preouts

if thats good check your speaker wires coming from your amp and see if you have voltage (AC Volts 0-50)

if theres no voltage on the speaker wires but you have voltage at the rca's your amp is bad but since you tried a different amp i doubt it,

if theres voltage coming from the speaker wires of the amp and your sub isnt moving then its probably blown. (coil frozen)

let us know if theres a dead link somewhere

did you check your remote wire

its either a signal problem or the sub came unhooked or snapped a tinsel lead.
