i have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2.5 5spd.

i currently have a magnaflo muffler it sounds horrible like a ricer, what would be the best muffler to give her some deep tone?

Flowmaster 40 series but it's a 4 banger and there's not much you can do...

A chambered muffler (Flowmaster, Cherrybomb Extreme, Hooker Aero chamber) will always have a deeper tone, but they don't flow nearly as well. If sound is all your after, pick up a chambered muffler. As far as flow goes, those straight through Magnaflows are about as good as it gets.

My theory is, unless its a V8 or maybe a V6 bigger than 4L, you don't want to hear it, and neither do the people around you. My friends and I have toyed with the exhaust on our trucks enough to know this is true. I'd leave a stock type sysytem on it, but that's me.

I agree, I have fiddled with mine for quite awhile and right now it sounds about as good as it ever has, just loud enough to tell it is running... barely.

Exactly. It has kind of a cool rumble at idle if you put your ear next to the tailpipe though. Good enough for me.
