Can someone please tell me which year/make/model gauge clusters will swap into a 1999 Ford Ranger? The factory gauge cluster does not have a tach, and I would really prefer one. Looking for plug and play installation. Thanks.

Why not just find a 99 gauge cluster with a tach in it. You may also need a wiring schematic and a partial harness for the dash to make it work.

Because the '01-'03 clusters are a lot cheaper on ebay, and just about all of them have tachs... not so on the '98-'00 clusters. Question is, is there really any difference between the '98-'00 clusters and the '01-'03 clusters? They look they same... are the ports on the back the same?

Anyone? I can't believe no one knows which clusters are interchangeable...

yeah ive got a 96 3.0 5spd no tach thats retated but anyways i have the same question i want a tach too and would like a plug in to but will consider options

ok ive got some new news. one of my buddies has a 99 with the 2.5 and he took a cluster out of a mid 90s exploder (4.0) and he said it just plugged up and worked fine

Explorer and sportt trac gauges will both work, although the sport trac's have a white face set up.
