Need more info!

How do you know you have a virus? If you have anti-virus software that detected a virus, why didn't it take care of it?

Download Avast! and get it to do a full scan, when it finds the virus it will move it to it's 'chest' (another pirate reference). If not try the program Malwarebytes. It is a very good program to remove existing viruses. The free version works well.

Hey that's my line! Actually I say "jiggle". That's wise of you to change one letter so I can't sue your ass for plagiarism.....

First off, go out and slam your wang in the car door for having Norton on your computer. Then go here http://www.spyware-asylum.com/ choose your OS and follow the directions.

Have been using and recommending ESET Nod32.

A little spendy, but my computer is worth it. Of course, there are always other means of obtaining these things :D

do you have any important information on the pc like doc, pics, music for if not then the easiest way to get rid of the virus is to reinstall your os which is a good thing to every now again if you find your pc running a little slow. for most of the program listed above will work aside from any free versions of anti-virus or the software called freedom offered by some internet providers which really sucks for i have seen machines with this so called antivirus and antispyware software installed and you can run a full scan and it will not find anything but when i ran a program call system analyzer from the company webroot it found well over fifty or more trojans adware. so go simple no info reload systems os.

I call complete bull crap.

the very reason I went to AVG free was because I had multiple problems on my machine and I was running a completely updated version of Norton Internet Security (full antivirus and firewall). and I paid 60 bucks for this piece of sh!t

thinking maybe its a virus, I used AVG at the suggestion of a friend and guess what? it found not one, not two, but three virus/trojans on my machine. they completely blitzed by Norton like it was not there. And all three of these virii were over 2 years old!! so it was not like it was something new that Norton did not have a definition file for.

I have used AVG for 6 years now and have not ever had an issue.

And after I uninstalled that piece of garbage called Norton (that took forever because of how entrenched it was) my computer was much faster, surfed the internet better and did not have the bloat that comes w/ Norton.

And don't get me started on McAffee...

if you must pay money for an antivirus (because you like spending it, feel more secure, etc. etc.) get Trend Micro's PC cillan. it is decent, and usually 10 bucks cheaper than Norton.

I have found that for everything you pay money for program wise there is an equal or better free version for your computer out there. The key is to keep an open mind on it and get used to its interface.

I can give you a list of free stuff that blows the bigname/bigdollar stuff away.
