i want to be able to "wink" my headlights, in order to do this would i just cut the pos. wire and put a switch inbetween and run it to the cab? it would have one switch per headlight. would this damage the headlights at all?

Wouldn't advise it unless you have done splicing successfully before. Ask around with emergency personal where they get parts for their vehicles. I have seen relays that will "strobe" the lights without the chances of creating a short or blowing fuses every time you turn the lights on.

Not that it wouldn't work but I have seen way too many "look what I did" mistakes done to nice vehicles.

Just push in on your headlight switch one click. Thatll do the same thing

Yea you can throw a switch between the battery and the headlight but I don't beleive that's recommended. A relay would probably be best.

why couldn't you basically take the exact same switch set up as you currently have hooked up to both headlights, and take one of the headlights off of that switch and hook it up in the exact same manner to another switch of the same kind?

so basically you'd have a switch for all lights on the left of your truck and a switch for all lights on the right side of your truck.

I switched the ground on my DS headlight on my old 2wd so I could "wink" at people when my headlights were on. I switched the ground that way it would also "wink" when the brights were on. I used a 30 amp relay so I didnt have to have a big 30 amp switch in the cab.
