94 ranger started to use oil overnight

My ranger started to use oil almost over night, its not leaking on the ground it also does not appear to be smoking but tail pipe show it whats up?
 
check for a plugged PCV system. the reason it is not smoking is that it probably is being burned up by the catalytic converter. (also the reason you see the residue on the tail pipe.)

if the PCV system turns out ok, the only thing else I can come up with is that you broke a ring... hopefully that isn't the case.
