2.8 exaust?

what sounds the best on a 2.8 i got a cheap cherry bomb turbo but it sounds like a POS lol i want like a deep sound to it like it sounds good in 2nd goin really slow but at higher rpms its kinda just junk lol

I got no cat and a 2 1/2" pipe with a Flowmaster 40 think its an original. and it sounds beastly. If you have a cat... leave it on though, mine was plugged beyond belief which is why its off.

Mine sounded best with a Walker turbo muffler, they are pretty cheap too. Mine was REALLY old and blew out when the rotor came loose and self destructed in the distributor cap. Truck has no cat on it.

Really it doesn't sound too bad now, but factory '97 F150 catback systems are kind of hard to come by... and probably bigger than optimum anyway.

u think i should get a high flow cat or just leave it off i kno ppl say u get more power but do u really or idk what to think cat or no cat?

If you already have it off its probably won't matter if you don't put a new one on...

I would just run about 3 -4 ft of 2 1/2" pipe from the y pipe to an og 40 then 2 1/2" past the back tires and either a single or dual setup. whatever you wanna run. thats what i did, I went for the exit behind each tire and it was badass. got compliments from v8 guys on how good i made my 2.8 sound. Cost me like 50 for the piping and 70 for the muffler and i welded it on myself.

yea those Cherry Bomb turbo mufflers suck lol, I had one on my 2.9 an it wasnt much different than stock. But then i ran a thrush glasspack on it an it sounded much better, dumped out the side in front of the rear tire. I woulda went Flowmaster, but I was broke at the time....come to think of it....I'm still broke now lol

i got a cherry bomb glasspack with no cat 2 1/4 piping with a 3 inch tip and i'm telling you that the big tip makes all the difference in the world love the way mine sounds now but when spring hits i'm going to completely redo the exhaust from the y pipe back probably run 2 1/2 piping with split duals and a flowmaster with some nice big tips... If you happen to run a nice tip make sure you weld it assholes like to steal them if they are only clamped had one on my old 318 dodge and someone got a five finger discount on it lol :annoyed:
