well yes and no, most have are color coated like this. yellow- constant, red-switched, black- ground, speaker wires are generally green, purple, white, gray. and remote turn ons are blue w/ white stripe. and some headunits have an orange for illumination which you dont use.
i havent seen any deviations of this. although i mostly install pioneer, sony, jvc, and kenwood.

ok thanks!
i hook up the orange illumination wire, that way when i turn my lights on the buttons on the radio light up and the navigation goes into night mode where its not so blindingly bright at night.

ive actually never tried to hook them up before. my radio is just always lit when i turn the key on. maybe ill try it in my new exploder
All aftermarket head units use the same color wiring, it is an industry standard. Even the wiring harness adapter kits have the same color wiring so there is no confusion.
