View Full Version : '92 Rear ABS Valve

Both my red brake warning light and yellow rear antilock brake lights are on all the time. I checked the code and it flashed 4 times, which makes sense given the warning lights. This indicates that something is amiss with the RABS valve. In this regard, I have a couple questions:

1. Has anyone ever tried disassembling the solenoids of the RABS valve to see if they could get it working again and, if so, to what avail?

2. Will the RABS valve from a '93-'97 Ranger with 3.0 V6 & 5-speed work on my '92 with 2.3L? There is a used one on the 'bay right now, and $30 used is much less than $150 new.

look up both parts separately and see if they have the same part number.

it is very likely that they do.

86isuzu,

Thanks for looking that up! I've decided that Pepboys is a great place with great people, and so that's where I've been going since I bought my truck. Everyone has been very helpful (though one guy didn't believe that my 4 cylinder truck had 8 spark plugs) and they've always had the parts that I need in stock. I just had to perform an impromptu brake master cylinder swap in a parking lot because my brake pedal suddenly went to the floor the other day, and Pepboys pulled through for me!
