dana 28 u joint question.

so im about to change my outer u joint on the passenger side. do i have to drop the center section or does the axle shaft come apart in two after the inner u joint?? if i drop the center section, would i have to remove the driverside axle shaft??

The outer axle slides out of the inner axle, but to change the joint in the center you will need to pull the diff. It can be done in the truck, but it's a PITA. Almost as much as pulling the differental. If you pull the diff, the driverside needs to come out also, but once the spindles off it just slides right out.
