how can i tell which tie rod end is blown

when i wiggle my driverside front tire with my truck up on jacks, there is side to side play, but how can i tell whether this is coming from the inner, or outer tie rod end. thanks, josh.

By whichever end has slop in it and is moving around (there should be zero slop in all the TREs). It being able to twist back & forth a few degrees is normal however.

Grab each end of the rod when manually moving the tire. If the links move relative to each other, there is your problem. Check all ends of all steering bars.
